Bakero set for Polonia job

Former Barcelona midfielder Jose Maria Bakero is to take over as coach of Polish side
Polonia Warsaw, vice-chairman Piotr Ciszewski has announced.

"I can confirm that Bakero will take charge of the team until the end of the year.
We will then discuss a contract extension," the PAP news agency quoted Ciszewski as saying.

Bakero, 46, was due in Poland to sign his contract on Wednesday.

Polonia currently stand second bottom of the table with four games of the campaign to go
and Bakero will be their sixth coach of the year.

Bakero was part of the Johan Cruyff-led Barca side
which won four straight Liga titles and the 1992 European Cup.
